You can draft a new email by clicking the New Email option in the top left of the Outlook window.
When drafting a new email, you can select the recipients of your message with the To, CC, and BCC fields.
To field: This field is for the primary recipient of the message. The recipient will see the names and email addresses of all other recipients in the To and CC fields.
CC field: This field is for people who should receive a copy of the message. The recipients in the CC field will see the names and email addresses of all other recipients in the To and CC fields.
BCC field: This field is for people who should receive a copy of the message, but their email addresses should not be visible to the other recipients. The recipients in the BCC field will only see the name of the sender and the subject line of the message.
When you are ready to send the email, click Send. Make sure to add a Subject line to explain to the recipients what the email is about.
In the email draft window, you can see the options ribbon at the top. The ribbon is split into File, Message, Insert, Options, Format text, Review, and Help settings.
Message settings are divided into several groups.
In the Names group, you can use the address book to search for people and email addresses within the company. The check names option allows you to confirm that it is possible to message the email addresses on the email.
In the Include group, you can attach files to the email, add links to websites, files, or other parts of the email, and you can add a signature.
In the Collaborate group, you can add loop components such as lists, checklists, task lists, tables, and Q&As.
In the Tags group, you can assign retention policies to emails, add follow up flags, and mark the email as high or low importance.
You can use the dictate option in the Voice group to dictate the content of the email instead of typing it.
You can use the editor option to get editor recommendations for better readability and comprehension.
You can use the view templates option in the My Templates group to use and save templates for commonly used messages.
